What Is Screen Sharing Software And How Is It Used?

What Is Screen Sharing SoftwareThe use of screen sharing software gives a user the ability to be in two places at once by allowing them to remotely control a computer from a different location thousands of miles away, or just around the corner. This represents a real problem to traditional IP geolocation because the IP address of the remotely controlled computer is the one being detected. That computer may very well be within a regulated area – but the user accessing it is not.

Screen Sharing Software Detection

In order to disrupt the “spoofing” capacity that screen sharing software offers a user, the GeoComply client performs a search to detect the presence of active screen sharing software such as GoToMyPC, VNC, Adobe Connect, and LogMeIn. Once detected, GeoComply can then instruct the users session to be terminated, blocking the user from accessing the site from an unauthorized location.

The GeoComply software can be used as a standalone application or integrated into an eCommerce service provider’s application, to best suit the individual customer’s needs.
