The Opportunity: Seattle, WA
Full Time: 40hr/week, no remote option
Contract length: 4 months
Expected start date: Tuesday, May 5th, 2026
Application Deadline: Feb 16th, 2026

The Role:

This internship sits inside our People Operations team and focuses on the day-to-day systems that keep hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes running smoothly.

Right now, too much of this work is manual. Your job is to understand it, help us run it accurately, and make it less time-consuming, leaving more capacity for strategy.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be doing real HR admin work, learning how People teams actually function, and improving processes that are used across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and issue employment letters, amendments, and other employee documents
  • Update employee data in our HRIS (new hires, changes, terminations)
  • Support visa and mobility paperwork with clear instructions and checklists
  • Create internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and client-facing Job Aids to ensure our new automated workflows are scalable.
  • Audit existing People Ops processes and flag where things are slow, confusing, or error-prone, then implement and test improvements
  • Interview internal stakeholders across the business to understand pain points and design solutions that elevate the employee experience.
  • Build templates, automations, vibe code tools to reduce repeat manual work
  • Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You’ll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role, a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business.

A concrete project you might own:

  • Take our employment letter process (currently manual and inconsistent)
  • Map the steps, identify edge cases, and document risks
  • Build a standardized template and automation that cuts creation time by 50–70%
  • Roll it out and train the team / employees on using using it

What You’re Like:

  • Educated: Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a degree in Human Resources, Arts, Business Administration, or a related field. Most importantly, you have a strong interest in the technical side of HR and People Ops.
  • Organized: careful with details, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
  • Efficient: You notice when you’re doing the same task repeatedly and look for a better way.
  • Personable: You have a great attitude that makes you approachable, and you like collaboration. You communicate well, and ask questions early when something isn’t clear.
  • Proficient: in Excel/Google Sheets and experience using AI for problem-solving (beyond basic prompting).

  • PLEASE NOTE: This role is best suited for someone who is intentionally exploring HR / People Operations as a career, not someone applying broadly to any internship.

What this role is (and is not)

  • This role is:
  • Detail-heavy.
  • Operational.
  • Significant work is required to keep our global operations running efficiently.A great fit if you like improving systems and making messy processes cleaner

  • This role is not:
  • A strategy-only internship
  • A shadow leaders and sit in meetings experience
  • A fit if you hate admin work, even temporarily

Bonus Points if (this is for things that are NICE to have, but not needed)

  • Previous HR Experience (but we can teach you everything you don’t know!)
  • Experience in using AI, no-code, scripting, or other automations to improve HR reporting and efficiency. EG Claude Code, Figma, Make, Google Scripts,
  • Previous familiarity with HRIS systems like Workday, Lever, or tools like Jira,

What Will You Gain?

  • Learning in:
  • How People Operations actually works in a growing tech company
  • How HR systems, contracts, people data, and compliance fit together
  • How to take a manual process and make it faster, safer, and more scalable
  • How to work with senior stakeholders on real operational problems

  • Supportive Environment and Mentorship: this is an opportunity to explore broadly within HR, and maybe even figure out the direction of your career.  You’ll get regular coaching, 1:1s and support from your direct manager and team,
  • Exposure & Networking: This role overlaps with almost  every department in the company, giving you an unparalleled view of how a global tech company operates.
  • Room for Growth: We think young talent has so much to offer.  Your work will have a meaningful impact on your team and the organization, and will allow you to grow your skills, network, and career.

Salary Range

  • 50000 - 60000 USD, per-year-salary
  • Salary Transparency and Equity: Our Early Career Salary ranges are set on a scale that depends on a selected candidate's location, level of education achieved, and number of months of work experience relevant to the position prior to applying.
About GeoComply’s Early Talent Program:

Most companies see interns as cheap labour, temporary workforce or someone to delegate the tasks you don’t want to do. This as a huge missed opportunity.

GeoComply views our Early Talent Program as an opportunity to hand select and shape the growth of our future leaders, and equip them with the skills we want our future team leaders to have in five years, and our future executives to have in fifteen. We believe in developing our future pipeline of people as thoughtfully as we think about developing our products.

Here are the stats to back that up:
- GeoComply supports an average of 60 intern positions a year (globally)
- 8-10% of GeoComply’s current workforce were hired on as interns
- Each intern receives hundreds of hours of job specific training and professional development from their managers, mentors, and the Early Talent Program.
