GeoGuard presented a session on “How to Stop Geo-Piracy and Geolocation Fraud via VPNs and DNS Proxies” at the MESA Europe Content Protection Summit, London on November 14th, 2019 in London, UK.

GeoGuard’s Alastair Campbell, Commercial and Product Marketing Manager, detailed how the widespread use of geolocation spoofing and the resultant growth in geo-piracy via VPNs and DNS Proxies undermines the territorial business model that content owners and distribution rightsholders rely on for revenue.

During his presentation, he discussed the extent of the problem and outline some of the steps that can be taken, and the technologies that can be employed, to prevent this activity, which is causing untold damage to the industry as a whole.
