Compliance, KYC, growth, and anti-fraud under one roof
One intelligence stream. One vendor. Every department in your business.
BROWSERGUARD
Eliminate location prompts for 40%-50% of players
Every other operator entering Alberta will start with a location prompt. But 7% of players won’t opt in.
BrowserGuard silently verifies low-risk players without prompting for location.
This isn’t basic IP. We combine network latency, network fingerprinting, and 820+ browser integrity signals to enable adaptive verification.
If risk emerges (like a bot, spoofed location, or malicious software) BrowserGuard dynamically steps up.
KYC
Get optimized, multi-vendor KYC in one integration
Get the highest pass rates (partners are seeing ~90% in Ontario and ~95% across the US) without the headache of integrating and managing multiple vendors.
Live with IDComply in another state or province? Turn it on for Alberta in a matter of hours.
See what these numbers look like for you.
“What impresses me the most is KYC pass rates. I don’t think there are many vendors out there that could say, ‘we’re giving you one endpoint where you could get 95% KYC pass rates.’ That kind of workflow—classic KYC plus selfie and document upload—can take years to build and integrate properly. GeoComply just delivers it.”
GEOLOCATION COMPLIANCE
Get 99.7% geolocation pass rates
Give players faster, lighter checks and smarter troubleshooting.
Deliver geolocation that feels easy. Honed over 15 years in regulated iGaming, we’ve obsessed over the player experience to remove every possible point of friction:
| Competitor (3rd-party documented) | GeoComply | |
|---|---|---|
| Speed of check | 35+ seconds | Sub-second (p50) |
| Battery drain / 60 min | 14% | 6x lower |
| Error messaging | Generic | 200+ dynamic, OS-specific |
| Near-border pass rate | Reliant on buffer zones | 4.5x better |
You get the highest pass rates—up to 99.7%. For your players, location becomes a quick step instead of something they want to vent about in an online forum.

GeoValidator is our address verification tool that uses real-time geolocation signals to confirm a player is where they say they are at registration. Instead of relying solely on document uploads or manual address entry, it cross-references live location data to validate address claims in seconds.
There are three levels, and the system picks the right one automatically, per player, per session:
- Low-risk players (verified device, known network, no spoofing signals) pass silently with no prompt and no friction.
- If something looks off, like a new account, a near-border location, or an unusual device signal, we step up to a browser-based location prompt.
- The desktop download is reserved for the highest-risk scenarios, where deeper verification is needed to confirm a player is where they say they are.
You set the floor and ceiling for each level based on your risk appetite and AGLC requirements. We handle the rest.
Yes. BrowserGuard is live across regulated iGaming markets in North America, including Ontario. If you’re already using it elsewhere, your Alberta integration works out of the box. No new procurement, no code changes.
We work with a range of vendors chosen specifically to optimize pass rates and player experience in Alberta, including document verification, IDV, email, and selfie-based checks.
We handle all procurement and vendor relationships on your behalf, so you get one endpoint, one integration, and the highest combined pass rates. Learn more about IDComply and get in touch to learn what the waterfall looks like for your specific setup.
Alberta iGaming operators are required to verify that players are physically located within provincial boundaries before allowing any real-money gameplay. The AGLC’s iGaming standards mandate real-time geolocation checks, VPN and spoofing detection, and the ability to deny access to players outside Alberta.
Our solution meets all AGLC requirements out of the box, and our Government Relations team has active relationships with the AGLC to stay ahead of any regulatory changes.
Yes. Under the AGLC’s regulated iGaming framework launching July 13, 2026, every real-money session (casino, sports betting, poker) requires a compliant geolocation check confirming the player is within Alberta. This applies at login and throughout gameplay. There are no exemptions by game type or session length.
If you’re already live with GeoComply in Ontario, you’re already ready for Alberta. Your integration works out of the box with no new procurement and no code changes. You can be live on July 13 without starting from scratch. If you’re using a different provider in Ontario, get in touch and we’ll walk you through what a switch looks like.
Both provinces require real-time geolocation verification for regulated iGaming, but the specifics differ. Ontario’s AGCO framework allows for some flexibility in verification method depending on session context.
Alberta’s AGLC standards are more prescriptive, with stricter requirements around spoofing detection and near-border handling. GeoComply’s solution meets both, and if you’re live in Ontario, turning on Alberta takes hours, not weeks.
BrowserGuard is our browser-based geolocation technology that verifies player location without requiring a separate app download. It uses IP enrichment, network fingerprinting, and multi-source location signals to assess where a player is and how trustworthy that signal is.
With BrowserGuard, 40 to 50% of sessions pass with a completely silent check, no prompt required. When the system detects elevated risk, it steps up dynamically. For operators, that means the highest pass rates. For players, location becomes invisible.
App-based geolocation requires players to download a dedicated plugin or desktop application before they can play. That adds friction, creates a drop-off point, and hands your competitors an easy advantage.
Browser-based geolocation works directly in the player’s browser with no download required for the majority of sessions. For the 7% of players who won’t install an app, browser-based geolocation is the difference between a conversion and a lost acquisition.
Near-border zones are where most geolocation providers fall over. They rely on static buffer zones that reject legitimate players just to stay on the safe side of the line.
Our near-border technology is purpose-built to shrink those buffer zones without sacrificing accuracy, delivering 4.5x better pass rates for players in border regions. A player in Lethbridge or Lloydminster gets the same seamless experience as someone in downtown Calgary.
Yes. GeoComply uses a multi-source approach to location verification, combining IP data, WiFi signals, cellular, GPS, and proprietary triangulation, so rural players aren’t penalized for being off the grid.
Whether a player is in Fort McMurray or a cabin in the foothills, our 200+ dynamic troubleshooters are built to recover sessions that a single-source system would just drop. Alberta is big. We’re built for it.
The best time to prevent bonus abuse is before it starts. New markets are the highest-risk window: operators are running acquisition promos, fraud rings are watching, and you don’t yet have a baseline of player behaviour to compare against.
Our fraud prevention layer runs at onboarding and every session, catching device farms, multi-accounting rings, and synthetic identities before they claim your welcome bonuses. Our ML models update every 18 hours and carry 99%+ precision. For Alberta, that protection is live from day one, before the market even opens.
New regulated markets are a magnet for organised fraud. What’s coming to Alberta at launch: bonus abuse rings creating hundreds of accounts to harvest welcome offers, device farms resetting phones to claim promo after promo, deepfake KYC bypasses at registration, and multi-accounting from coordinated player groups.
These aren’t theoretical. We’ve seen the same patterns in every new market we’ve operated in, and in comparable launches we’ve flagged over 250 accounts created from a single residential address. Fraudsters are planning for the launch date. Be ready to stop attacks before they become a problem.
Geolocation compliance answers one question: is this player physically located in Alberta? Fraud prevention asks a different set: is this player who they say they are, is their device genuine, and does their behaviour match a real player or a fraud ring?
Both matter, and they work better together. Our platform runs both on the same intelligence stream, which means a spoofed location doesn’t just trigger a geolocation fail. It feeds directly into fraud detection. One data point, two layers of protection.
Yes, and it’s a significant operational advantage over managing three separate vendors. GeoComply’s platform covers compliant geolocation (up to 99.7% pass rates), managed KYC via IDComply (up to 90% pass rates in Ontario), and real-time fraud prevention, all through one integration and one vendor relationship.
That means shared intelligence across every check, one support escalation path, and no blind spots where the seams between vendors let things fall through.
If you’re already a GeoComply customer in Ontario or the US, Alberta is live in hours. Your existing integration works out of the box.
For new customers, timelines vary depending on your tech stack, but our team is built around market launch deadlines. Get in touch now and we’ll tell you exactly where you stand.
The hard costs are only part of the picture. Three separate vendor contracts add up, but the real cost of a fragmented stack shows up in the gaps: slower pass rates when systems don’t share signals, higher internal overhead managing multiple relationships and integrations, and no unified view when something goes wrong.
With GeoComply, one integration covers geolocation, KYC, and fraud prevention. One contract. One team to call. And intelligence that compounds across every check instead of sitting in three separate silos.
GeoComply maintains 99.999% uptime, processing up to 15,000 geolocation checks per second at peak load. That is the kind of infrastructure that holds up during a Stanley Cup final, a Super Bowl Sunday, and an Alberta market launch all at once.
For operators, that means no revenue lost to downtime, no compliance gaps during high-traffic moments, and no awkward conversations with your players about why the site is down on the biggest betting night of the year. Learn more about the infrastructure behind all those 9s.
